Dr. Timothy Kelly, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Timothy Kelly is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has been part of the medical community in Oregon for more than twenty years practicing Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He felt drawn to the medical profession because of his ardent desire to help individuals experiencing pain and suffering. Dr. Kelly completed a bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He then completed a residency in Anesthesiology, followed by a Fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Kelly also holds an MBA in Healthcare Finance from George Washington University, and an MPH in Public Health Practice from University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Kelly began his career in private practice in Gresham, Oregon, providing pain relief to Oregonians in need. He continued this pain relief mission by starting a non-profit clinic, 501(c)3, in 2005 offering pain management services to the uninsured and people below the federal poverty threshold. Dr. Kelly has also been the Chief Medical Officer of two Oregon correctional facilities.

Wanting to serve his country, Dr. Kelly commissioned in the United States Air Force and completed additional medical training in Aerospace Medicine at the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. Dr. Kelly holds the rank of Colonel and currently serves as a Senior Flight Surgeon, Flight Commander, and Chief of Aerospace Medicine in the Air Force Reserves. He has been part of several deployment operations in Europe and the Middle East caring for wounded warriors and coalition forces as a pain management specialist, combat anesthesiologist, and flight surgeon.

Dr. Kelly has dedicated his career to providing compassionate pain relief to his patients. His career came full circle when he joined the team at Hospice of Redmond, serving as the Medical Director. Dr. Kelly is enthusiastic about building relationships with his patients as they make the arduous journey toward the end of life with their families. By relieving pain and suffering during a patient’s challenging time, Dr. Kelly can provide these patients a better quality of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Kelly enjoys spending time with this family and restoring classic cars and trucks.

“It is a high honor to provide compassion and end-of-life care to my patients, and I am sincerely grateful to the patients and their families for placing trust in me to do the work I love to do.”
